As my final university project at the HfG Offenbach I critically explored the theme of nostalgia.
I illustrated and animated scenes in the style of early video games, which at first glance appear to be classic game sequences.
On closer inspection they reveal what happens when no one is playing, offering a behind the scenes glimpse into digital game worlds.
The work reflects on the idealized return to the past and shows how nostalgic aesthetics can also represent stagnation, omission and romanticized distortion.
